Started in Glenn Head, NY as a custom cabinet and kitchen manufacturer. They employed three employees who would estimate, build and install cabinets and kitchens.

Ziggy Vogel started with KB Woodworking in the late fifties after apprenticing in Germany where he is originally from.  In 1975 Siegfried Vogel relocated the business to Cairo, NY, and expanded production to include custom design furniture commissioned by designers from New York City.

Ziggy’s sons Peter and Richard, who have worked beside their father since they were old enough to be in the shop, now run KB Woodworking. We have been manufacturing high-end custom furniture for over three decades and custom architectural panels for almost two decades. The shop started in Ziggy's basement and has grown to an 8,000 square foot shop with another addition planned for the near future. We have nine conscientious employees with an average fifteen years experience in the woodworking industry. With two veneer stitchers, a ten-foot veneer press, a four-foot wide belt sander, 10-foot stroke sander and two panel saws we are able to handle most custom jobs.  We work very closely with our customers to determine their expectations, advising them as we go about the process involved and the progress of the job. 

We have a close working relationship with the leading core and veneer suppliers and will exhaust all avenues to obtain the particular materials a customer’s request as well as advise them on the best material for the application.  Our primary customers are in the Northeast, and up and down the East Coast, and as far as Washington, Colorado and California.
